First Community Bank and Trust's 'State Fair' Float Takes 1st Place
Beecher Parade Pays Tribute to American Musicals
Beecher, Illinois – Each year the competition gets steeper for Beecher's Annual Fourth of July Parade. With a theme of "American Musicals" as their guide, local businesses, churches and organizations called on their creative talents to decorate a float worthy of top honors. First Community Bank and Trust rose to that challenge and took first place with their tribute to the classic musical, "State Fair". Playing songs from the 1945 production, the float was festooned in bright green and featured a ferris wheel along with a gorgeous hand-painted background. This was one of the most elaborate floats the bank has ever assembled. The bank also entered another float to celebrate their 95th anniversary. That float was hard to miss as it carried a 6-foot tall, four-layer cake!

95th Anniversary Cake Float

First Community Bank and Trust looks forward to participating in the Beecher Fourth of July Parade every year as well as Beecher's Lighted Parade in December. The floats take approximately 100 hours to complete and require the efforts of many employees. For photos of the floats, see our online photo album on Flickr.
The Independence Day Parade was part of Beecher's 85th Annual Fourth of July Celebration. This four-day event features a carnival, bingo, nightly entertainment, and a magnificent fireworks display to conclude the festivities.
